Review:
Set in a village in Denmark a preschool teacher who is lonely, will
have to face the biggest challenge of his life as a small lie is
going to change everything. As Lucas was fighting for his son's
custody things got better for him as he finds a new girlfriend and
enjoys his work. Everything is about to change, as a girl in the
kinder garden that he works says a lie about him sexually harassing
her. Suddenly all his friends and his countrymen, even his best
friend turn against him and he has to fight for his dignity after
encountering many difficulties.
This is one of the greatest movies I have seen this year. First of all , the pictures and landscapes that you are going to see are amazing. Vinterberg has done a very good job directing this film because the story is unfolding in a great way (I think that it is a real story that he got from a psychologist that he visited) and till the end you are going to beg to see the end and what is going to happen to Lucas. It is very interesting how some innocent words from a child can change someones life for a big period of time. This movie will keep you and hold you until the end. It is a great plot that will not disappoint you. The setting also is very good and ideal for this story type. As for the cast it very very good.
I was amazed by the performance of Mikkelsen and Larsen they have done an extraordinary job by me and its definitely something that you are going to enjoy about this movie. Really I cant describe it easy, you must watch this film even if you dont like the drama genre. Mads Mikkelsen is a great actor, we saw him on the James Bond:Casino Royale film where he also performed great (by my opinion) and he is one of the reasons that I watch The Hannibal series on TV. One question that I have in mind here is why the movie is R-rated? I don't get it really this is not a movie that a 13 years old kid can't see but the people who rate these movies know better than me to be honest.
Finishing it is a great drama that you must see by my opinion. It has a troubling theme though but you are going to enjoy it and do some questions to yourself about the problems that emerge from a small lie. The cast and the director have done a very good job and the plot is amazing and it will keep you interested till the end of the film. I really like the fact that in this century we are still able to see quality movies such this one. Enough words if haven't find this movie and see it you are not going to be disappointed.
