Review: From the makers of Saw and Paranormal Activity, Insidious is a movie directed by James Wan and has won an award as the best 2012 horror movie at the Empire Awards UK. A family moves into a house where strange things start to happen during the night (same old classic plot) . One day one of the 3 children falls from the attic but fortunately nothing serious happens. The next day though the little boy falls into a coma. Doctors can not explain why the youngster is in this state. After this he returns home (still in a coma) where he is supervised by a nurse and his mom. His mom starts seeing and hearing many strange things inside the house and she really freaks out. And this is where the fun begins.

I don't know what is going on with this mask

It is a great and exciting movie for someone to watch. The plot has something good in it because, correct me if I am wrong ,it is the first time we see a movie that has to do with astral projection.Really, I had no clue before what this was.But apart from this it is a classic scenario where a family moves into a new house and crazy things start to happen (really they need to find something new I have seen many movies with this plot line). Anyway as I stated In Conjuring James managed to make a very good atmosphere surrounding the movie(same as Conjuring). All the jump scares are great(right combination of sudden image and sound alternations) and it has many, so be careful (you are going to jump off your seats probably).

Ok yes i admit it this old granny scared me a lot

The greatness behind this movies jump scares is behind the fact that in some parts of the film you know that something is going to pop up on your screen aggressively but still it manages to scare you . Also in some scenes you are really going to be shuddered (even the bravest will feel such emotions) because whatever you do the movie manages to drag you into its atmosphere. James Wan again has done a very good job and I am looking forward to seeing other movies that he directs (really after seeing conjuring i am thrilled about his great atmosphere). The cast has done a pretty descent job, to be honest I liked more the performance of Patrick Wilson in Insidious than in Conjuring(but that's my opinion). Also Rose Byrne got into the heart of her role as she produces the desperate and scared mother perfectly in the movie. Something that I didn't like in the movie is that it is PG-13 rated and I think that if it was R-rated it would be more scary. I really don't have a clue why they did it PG-13.

                                                                               Patrick Wilson in action

To sum up it is a movie that you must see and I think that you will enjoy as the cast is very good and James Wan will amaze you with his images and how he manages to get you into the film. The only bad thing is the plot because its nothing that you haven't seen before. We are awaiting for the return of Insidious in cinemas for chapter 2 and we are anticipating to see which movie is going to take of the sceptre of the best in the horror genre for 2013.
